Installing View Server components, configuring the environment, creating pools and ThinApp applications, and troubleshooting will be the major processes necessary to know for the VCP5-DT (VMware Certified Professional 5 - Desktop) certification program. This intermediate level program asks participants to complete two requirements: earn the VCP5 certification, which must be done before beginning work in this program, and successfully pass the 85-question VCP5-DT exam.
Prior experience working with the View and virtual environments can greatly enhance your ability to pass the exam and earn certification, as will knowledge of Datacenter, solution creation, networking, and VMware components. In preparation, participants can enroll in four designated training courses, including the Install, Configure, Manage exam for both V5.0 and 5.1 for VMware View and a Design Best Practices course. No course is required, although each is highly beneficial to the full understanding of certification objectives. A mock exam, as well as further exam and certification details, can be accessed from the VMware website.
Virtual Systems Engineers are the designated candidates for this certification, in an attempt to verify their skills in VMware View environment configuration. Possession of this certification can lead to greater industry recognition, discerning competency and inclusion in the professional certification community.
