The VCAP5-DCA (VMware Certified Advanced Professional on vSphere 5 - Datacenter Administration) certification requires two things: previous acquisition of the VCP5 certification, and a passing score on the VCAP5-DCA lab exam. The exam will consist of 26 live activities that can be enacted while directly connected to VMware equipment at any Pearson VUE testing center.
Leaders in the vSphere environment, who possess the VCP5 certification and administration skills in large virtualized environments, should consider taking this exam and earning the certification. The ability to use related tools to implement and administer virtual environments will result in mastery of this subject. Participants can prepare for this intermediate certification by taking a training course, titled VMware vSphere: Optimize and Scale.
All vSphere 5 components will be tested in this certification track. With these components, participants must demonstrate the ability to implement and manage storage, networking and solutions, as well as virtual machine resource optimization, cluster deployment, and other common administrative tasks. Expertise in these subjects, as well as configuration troubleshooting, will be verified by certification and put to go use in the workplace. Practical experience working with the product in such situations is ideal for success.
