Symantec 250-316 : Administration of Symantec Backup Exec 2012 Exam
Potential exam candidates should have at least three months experience working with Symantec Backup Exec 2012 in a lab or production environment before taking the Symantec 250-316 (Administration of Symantec Backup Exec 2012). They will have 105 minutes to complete 75-85 exam questions, and must score at least a 60% in order to pass. Achieving a passing score and accepting the Symantec Certification Agreement are the required steps to certification in this level.
Exam participants will be asked to demonstrate their familiarity with concepts detailed in a number of Symantec Backup Exec 2012 product documentation. The documentation may include, but are not restricted to, the following: Symantec Backup Exec 2012 Customer Licensing Guide, Symantec Backup Exec 2012 Readme First Release Notes, Symantec Backup Exec 2012 Administrator's Guide, Symantec Backup Exec 2012 Differences Guide, Symantec Backup Exec 2012 Upgrade Guide, Symantec Backup Exec 2012 Software Compatibility List, and Symantec Backup Exec 2012 Hardware Compatibility List.
The ability to do well on the Symantec 250-316 exam will require that candidates can describe all the components of Backup Exec 2012. This means that candidates should also have familiarity with installing, configuring, managing, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the components.
Additional required skills include performing job management and monitoring, generating reports, creating a Simplified Disaster Recovery disk, configuring product updates, managing devices and media/backup sets, and managing licensing. The Symantec 250-316 exam may test knowledge of the Data Lifecycle Management, Network Data Management Protocol, and GRT-enabled backups.
