Symantec 250-311 : Admin for Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 for windows Exam
At least six months hands-on experience dealing with Windows and Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 is recommended before a candidate attempts to take the Symantec 250-311 (Admin for Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 for windows) exam. Additionally, candidates should strongly consider taking the Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.x training course before taking the 250-311 exam.
The overall purpose of the Symantec 250-311 exam is to allow a candidate to prove that they possess the knowledge needed to plan, design, and deploy Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 within an enterprise environment. Certification results from passing the technical 250-311 exam with a score of 79% or better and accepting the Symantec Certification Agreement. Each exam lasts for 90 minutes and contains a total of 70 to 80 questions.
Candidates must be knowledgeable in Symantec Endpoint Protection installation, configuration, and related concepts. This includes the ability to define common threats and security risks to Symantec Endpoint Protection, as well as possessing the knowledge about which technical controls can prevent those threats from spreading. Candidates should be able to demonstrate that they understand how polices, groups, subgroups, locations, location awareness, and policy inheritance relate to Symantec Endpoint Protection.
Additional concepts include antivirus, antispyware, proactive threat scanning, firewall, management of log files, and configuration of LiveUpdate polices. Candidates should have the ability to use Application and Device Control, Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), Symantec Endpoint Protection Managers, and SAV/Sygate.
