Symantec 250-310 : Administration of Symantec Enterprise Vault 10.0 for Exchange Exam
There are two training courses associated with the Symantec 250-310 (Administration of Symantec Enterprise Vault 10.0 for Exchange) exam. Symantec Enterprise Vault 10.0 for Exchange: Administration is a five day ILT or VA course, and Symantec Enterprise Vault 10.0: Installation is a two hour WBT course. The courses may increase the candidate's ability to achieve a passing score of 60% or higher. A practice exam is also available.
The Symantec 250-310 exam can be taken in either English or Japanese. Prior to taking the exam, it is recommended that each candidate have at least six months of work experience dealing with Symantec Enterprise Vault 10.0 for Exchange.
Exam candidates must have a knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2007 and 2010 in order to pass the exam. This includes Journaling, Public Folder, Managed Folder, and Outlook. Both Personal Storage and Outlook Web Access/App administration and maintenance abilities will be tested during the 250-310 exam. Storage aspects, including Enterprise Vault supported storage, storage configurations, and Network storage concepts, are additional areas that the candidate needs to be knowledgeable in. Topics such as Enterprise Vault Administration Console (VAC), Vault Cache, Virtual Vault, Enterprise Vault Management Shell, and Enterprise Vault Policy Manager (EVPM) are likely to be covered during the 250-310 exam.
Basic skills in the administration and maintenance of Microsoft SQL database and Microsoft Active Directory, as well as standard backup and availability concepts, may be examined during the 250-310 test. To prove their expertise, a candidate should be able to describe how the configuration differs for high availability and when using building blocks.
