Symantec 250-307 : Administration of Symantec Enterprise Vault 2007 for Exchange Exam
The Symantec 250-307 (Administration of Symantec Enterprise Vault 2007 for Exchange) exam is a 105-minute test with 86 multiple choice questions. Before taking this exam, knowledge of Windows operating system administration, database and storage concepts, and implications of archiving/compliance is required. The exam is only available in the English language.
To prepare, candidates can enroll in any of two main recommended training courses. Symantec Enterprise Vault 2007 for Exchange: Administration I and II are available and should be taken in order to learn key terms and concepts, as found on the exam. To help guide review in this course and on the test, candidates are suggested to read through the study guide available on the Symantec website. A sample exam and a list of exam objectives are also available. To pass this test, a minimum score of 71% is required.
Participants must have a solid understanding of EV functions, such as exchange archiving and components like archiving tasks, Exchange Policy, mailboxes, domains and targets. Basic EV configuration steps, such as setting up Vault Site properties, configuring archive retention, and optimization, must be known and easily described. The configuration of Vault Monitoring, Troubleshooting, and Reporting functions will also be tested. Participants should be able to describe backup functions and processes, maintain Vault indexes, and describe the benefits of OWA.
