Symantec 250-271 : Administration of Symantec NetBackup 7.5 for UNIX Exam
The Symantec 250-271 (Administration of Symantec NetBackup 7.5 for UNIX) examination is available to test candidates' knowledge of the updates and changes made to version 7.5 of Symantec NetBackup. It will consist of 100-110 questions taken in a 2-hour period, and it is required for individuals who have earned previous NetBackup certifications and will be using this updated software in the workforce. Experience of at least 8 months using NetBackup, along with knowledge of UNIX, storage virtualization, and network administration is required.
Although not required, enrollment in a Symantec training course is highly recommended. The Symantec NetBackup 7.5 for UNIX: Administration five day course is available, along with other related courses. In addition, candidates can prepare for this exam by reviewing product documentation, exam objectives, and the study guide and practice exam that are posted on the Symantec website. The exam is only available in English. A passing score of 65% is necessary.
As with past NetBackup certification exams, the following areas of knowledge will be tested:
1. System tuning, optimization, and analysis
2. Installation - The installation and upgrade process of NetBackup servers should be understood.
4. Maintenance - Knowing how to maintain disk and media devices, among other things, is required.
5. Configuration - Participants should be able to describe the configuration of different aspects of the NetBackup software.
