Symantec 250-251 : Administration of High Availability Solutions for UNIX using Veritas Cluster Server 5.0 Exam
The Symantec 250-251 (Administration of High Availability Solutions for UNIX using Veritas Cluster Server 5.0) exam will test processes related to the installation, configuration, and implementation of High Availability and is only available in the English language. Before completing this certification, it is suggested that candidates first earn the Storage Foundation 5.0 Administrator for UNIX certification, although it is not required.
A total of 65-70 questions will be asked on the Symantec 250-251 test. Candidates will have up to 90 minutes to complete it. A score of 70% must be reached to pass successfully. To prepare, candidates can take the Veritas Cluster Server 5.x for UNIX training course, as well as four other related courses. A minimum of six months experience working with UNIX clusters and Veritas Cluster Server is suggested. A study guide, practice exam, and exam objectives, along with test and certification information, can be found on the Symantec website.
Participants will be asked questions regarding installation of VCS and verification of the pre- and post-installation environment. Knowledge of environment configuration, such as components of a service group, cluster communications, possible heartbeat problems, and resource attributes, is required. Participants must be able to validate the implementation and make adjustments when necessary, which includes determining expected outcomes of specific tests and changes needed to fix a notification. Common maintenance jobs, such as resolving start-up problems, should be understood.
