SNIA S10-300 : SNIA Architect - Assessment, Planning & Design Exam
The SNIA S10-300 (SNIA Architect - Assessment, Planning & Design) examination is intended for solutions architects who work in the support field, offering solutions based on data and information requirements. It will test ITIL and ITSM principles, along with best practices and standards, in architecting a storage networking solution. It is suggested that candidates complete the SNIA Storage Networking Foundations exam before taking this test, as basic knowledge will be incorporated into this exam.
Three main topics regarding SNIA architecture will be tested:
1. Assessment. Participants should be able to determine relevant performance, disaster recovery, high availability, and LAN/server-free issues. The existing infrastructure and hardware, current storage, and distance limitations must be properly assessed.
2. Planning. Participants will be asked to plan architecture solutions for capacity, security, scalability, and interoperability. Participants should be able to create operating procedures and a job flow sequence, as well as Capacity Planning processes/procedures and a data management life cycle checklist.
3. Design. Participants must be able to design such things as backup/recovery strategies, failover solutions, high availability strategies, and an entire storage area network, including aspects of performance, hardware, and connectivity.
