Only candidates with experience in IT or storage networking operations should attempt to earn the SNIA Certified Storage Networking Expert (SCSN-E) certification. Professionals with the SCSN-E certification have advanced computer skills in at least one operating system and an advanced understanding of storage networking products and solutions. Additionally, the SCSN-E certification validates a professional's knowledge of disk technologies, RAID technology, SCSI technology, and issues related to disaster recovery, high availability, and topology.
Earning the SCSN-E certification requires candidates to pass three exams. Secondly, they must pass the S10-200 or S10-201 SNIA Storage Networking Management/Administration exam and the S10-300 SNIA Architect - Assessment, Planning & Design exam. In addition to the exams, candidates need to earn one SNIA Certification Partner product credential, which include, but are not limited to, NetApp Certified Data Management Administrator, ASE - HP StorageWorks, Cisco Data Center Storage Networking Design Specialist, and Hitachi Data Systems Certified Professional.
