SAS A00-212 : SAS Advanced Programming for SAS 9 Exam
The SAS A00-212 (SAS Advanced Programming for SAS 9) test consists of 63 multiple choice questions that must be answered in a 2-hour timeframe. It is the final requirement for the Certified Advanced Programmer for SAS 9 certification (the Base Programming for SAS 9 exam must also be completed successfully) and will test candidates' ability to write/interpret SQL code and solve complex programming problems, among other key concepts.
In preparation of the SAS A00-212 exam, candidates should take the SAS Programming 3 Advanced Techniques and Efficiencies training course. Two other related courses, SAS Macro Language 1 Essentials and SAS SQL 1 Essentials, should also have been taken before taking this exam. A set of sample questions and practice exam can be downloaded from the SAS website. A minimum score of 65% is required to pass.
Participants should be knowledgeable of the following areas of knowledge:
1. Advanced Programming Techniques. Participants must demonstrate their ability to use advanced data look-up techniques, reduce I/O and programming time, eliminate duplicate data, perform benchmarking, and SORT, DATA, SQL, and other advanced procedures.
2. Data Accessing and Macro Processing. Participants should know how to use the SQL procedure to construct subqueries, solve problems, and generate summary/detail reports. An understanding of Macro processes and other aspects of Macro processing is required.
