SAS A00-211 : SAS Certified Base Programmer for SAS 9 Exam
The SAS A00-211 (SAS Certified Base Programmer for SAS 9) exam is a 2-hour exam with 70 multiple choice and short response questions. It is required for the SAS Certified Base Programmer for SAS 9 credential, which ensures that individuals in this field are qualified to access and manage data in order to perform analysis and queries. The exam is only available in the English language.
Knowledge of data management and programming is necessary. Candidates should be able to do such things as import/export, manipulate, and transform data using SAS 9. Several training resources are available in support of this exam, including three training courses (including Essentials, Data Manipulate Techniques, and a review class), sample questions, and an official practice exam. Exam registration must be done through Prometric on the SAS website. A passing score of 70% is required.
Exam topics include the following:
1. Data management. Participants should be able to execute SAS statements, investigate SAS data libraries, modify variables, manipulate character data, sort and classify data operations, and use various SAS functions.
2. Accessing data. Participants must know how to read and process raw data files, combine data sets, and set up an Excel spreadsheet. The ability to create and modify data sets and values is also required.
3. Report generation and error resolution. Using base SAS procedures, participants should be able to generate list and summary reports. Participants must identify, examine, and resolve data errors.
