PMI PMI-001 : Project Management Professional Exam
The exam number for the Project Management Professional test is PMI-001. In order to take this exam, a candidate is going to need to have an applicable bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of experience in their field. The associated certification will prove a candidate has the experience, education and competency to lead and direct projects.
A significant portion of the PMI PMI-001 exam is going to be devoted to testing a candidate's knowledge of Executing a Project. The questions in this section will comprise approximately 30% of the test. A candidate will need to know project monitoring tools and techniques, elements of a statement of work, quality standard tools, and continuous improvement processes.
Another significant topic that will appear on this test is Planning the Project. This portion of the test will require a candidate to assess detailed project requirements, constraints, and assumptions with stakeholders based upon the project charter, lessons learned from the previous projects, and the use of requirement gathering techniques.
Other topics that will appear on the PMI PMI-001 exam include Initiating the Project, Monitoring and Controlling the Project, and Closing the Project. In order to prepare for the exam, a candidate is encouraged to closely study the test's syllabus.
