Unlike other Oracle Expert Certifications, the NetBeans Integrated Development Environment 6.1 Programmer expert certification does not require a previous certification or multiple tests to successfully earn. It can easily be earned with a passing score of 51% on the 1Z0-889 exam, a multiple choice test that consists of 61 questions.
The content of the exam will embody the goal of the certification, which is to validate knowledge of Java desktop and web applications development in a NetBeans Integrated Development Environment (IDE). The ability to design, implement, code and debug applications will be tested; specific portions of the exam will cover IDE configuration, testing and profiling, and creating NetBeans projects from an existing SE and EE Web application.
The only training available for this certification is a comprehensive study guide. Only candidates with an extensive amount of work experience using NetBeans and developing applications should earn this certification. Although the test is multiple choice, it is tailored to experienced individuals in the field who can program and configure intricate projects in an IDE.
