Oracle 1z0-878 : Oracle Solaris 10 System Administrator Certified Professional (Part II) Exam
The Oracle 1z0-878 Oracle Solaris 10 System Administrator CP exam (Part II) is a 105-minute test with 48 total questions. It is the second required step in attaining an Oracle Certified Professional, Oracle Solaris 10 System Administrator certification for system administrators tasked with performing essential system administration procedures on the Solaris Operating System (Solaris OS) and technical application support staff responsible for administering a networked server running on the Solaris OS.
A recommended training course, System Administration for the Solaris 10 OS Part 2, is available for preparation. A practice exam and sample questions can also be accessed online. A passing score of 65% is required. The Oracle 1z0-878 exam is available in the English and Japanese languages.
The Oracle 1z0-878 exam will require knowledge of managing the following items:
1. Virtual file systems and core dumps. Participants must explain virtual memory concepts, configure and manage swap space, manage crash dumps and core file behaviors, explain NFS fundamentals, configure and manage the NFS server, and troubleshoot various NFS errors.
2. Storage volumes. Participants should be able to analyze and explain certain aspects and concepts of storage volumes. Creating the state database, building a mirror, and unmirroring the root file system is covered.
3. Solaris Zones. Participants must explain consolidation issues, identify zone components, use the zoneadm command, and explain custom jumpstart configuration.
4. LDAP, Jumpstart, and Live Upgrade. Participants should be able to identify and explain all specific aspects and processes of this area of knowledge.
