Oracle 1z0-864 : Java Enterprise Edition 5 Enterprise Architect Certified Master (Step 1 of 3) Exam
The Oracle 1z0-864 Enterprise Architect CM exam is 2 hours long and consists of 64 questions, 33 of which need to be answered correctly in order to obtain the Oracle Certified Master, Java EE 5 Enterprise Architect certification, for enterprise architects responsible for designing Java EE applications with attention to creating flexible, scalable, secure designs using Java EE features to their fullest potential. This exam is the first step in this certification acquirement process.
Two courses are available for preparation: Developing Applications for the Java EE 5 Platform and Developing Architectures for Enterprise Java Applications. A practice exam and sample questions are also available online. The Oracle 1z0-864 exam is only available in the English language.
Knowledge of the following areas is highly suggested:
1. Common Architectures. The advantages and disadvantages of two-tier, three-tier, and multi-tier architectures when examined under specific topics should be effectively explained. Integration and messaging processes of Enterprise should also be understood.
2. Application Design Concepts and Principles. Participants should be able to explain the main advantages of an object-oriented approach to system design. The principle of "separation of concerns" and its application to the main system tiers of Java Platform Enterprise should be accurately described.
3. Application, Patterns, and Security. Given a specified business problem, participants should be able to design a modular solution that solves a problem using Java EE. Knowing appropriate patterns for given scenarios and their benefits/drawbacks will be expected. The client-side security model should be understood.
4. Business Tier and Web Tier Technologies. Specifics of terms, concepts, and uses of these technologies will be tested.
