The Oracle 1z0-859: Java Enterprise Edition 5 Web Component Developer CP Upgrade Exam is a 130-minute, 50 questions exam that is required to receive the Oracle Certified Professional, Java EE 5 Web Component Developer certification, meant for developers specializing in the application of JavaServer Pages and servlet technologies used to present Web services and dynamic Web content. A score of 72% is required to pass.
The Oracle 1z0-859 exam will cover areas such as the Servlet Technology Model, the Structure and Deployment of Web Applications, the Web Container Model, Session Management, Security, the JSP Model, Building JSP Pages, and J2EE Patterns. Two training courses are recommended to take for exam preparation. A practice exam and sample questions are also available online. This test is available in the English and Japanese languages.
Test subjects include (but are not limited to) the following:
1. All aspects of web application security should be correctly identified and described.
2. Participants should be able to construct the correct structure of the deployment descriptor.
3. Given a scenario, participants must describe which session management mechanism the Web container could employ and how cookies and URL rewriting might be used to manage sessions.
4. Participants must be knowledgeable of each model - technical characteristics, methods, parameters, attribute scopes, and other specific elements must be correctly identified and described.
