Oracle 1z0-042 : Oracle Database 10g: Administration I Exam
The Oracle 1z0-042: Oracle Database 10g: Administration I. exam is part of the Oracle Certification Program. It is associated with certification to qualify for the Oracle Database 10g DBA OCA position. There are 84 questions on the exam and 120 minutes in which to complete them. Passing score is 68%, but this is subject to change.
The following exam topics are included on the test, but others are included as well:
1. Architecture - Exam participants will be required to outline the Oracle Architecture and its main components. Additionally, they will be asked to explain the Oracle instance architecture.
2. Installing the Oracle Database Software - Participants must be able to identify common database administrative tools that are available to a DBA. They will be asked to use optimal flexible architecture and to install software with Oracle Universal Installer. They will be required to identify and configure commonly used environment variables and to use the Installer Log as well.
3. Creating an Oracle Database - Exam participants should have the ability to use DBCA to create and delete databases and to use DBCA to manage templates.
4. Managing Schema Objects - Exam participants will be expected to create and modify tables, to define constraints and states of constraints and to create views and sequences. They will also be instructed to use data dictionary.
