Microsoft MB3-859 Exam Description and Topics

The Microsoft MB3-859 (Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 Financials) exam is a proctored exam that must be taken at any certified Prometric test center (locations worldwide). It is intended for individuals looking to become a Microsoft Dynamics Certified Technology Specialist in Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010, and it will test knowledge of the use, maintenance, support, and implementation of the GP Financials product. It is only available in the English language.

Six training courses are available for enrollment. Each one will review a specific topic of the product and exam. Candidates should take one or more of these courses to prepare for the exam. A full list and individual descriptions, along with registration and additional information, can be found on the Microsoft website.

The Microsoft MB3-859 exam will test several skills, including system and company setup using Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010. Participants will be required to understand company setup procedures, customization and utilities, navigation and integration elements, and SmartLists/report/inquiries. Additionally, participants must know how to set up and maintain five key components:

1. General Ledger - Participants must demonstrate an ability to set up accounts and budgets, maintain records, and set up organizational structures.

2. Receivables Management - Participants should be able to set up customers and transactions, enter receipts, and performing period and year end procedures.

3. Bank Reconciliation - Participants should be able to maintain checkbooks and transactions.

4. Fixed Assets

5. Payables Management - Including vendors and vendor classes.
