Microsoft 70-680 Exam Description and Topics

The exam number for the TS: Windows 7, Configuring test is 70-680. This proctored exam is available in 8 different languages, including English, Russian, and Chinese. Candidates for this exam operate in computing environments that use Microsoft Windows 7 as a desktop operating system in an enterprise environment. Candidates should have at least one year of experience in the IT field.

The associated certification for this course is MCTS: Windows 7, Configuration. In order to prepare for the test, a candidate is encouraged to engage in the 6292A: Installing and Configuring Windows 7 Client preparation course, which will last approximately 3 days. Online practice tests will also be made available to candidates to assist them in familiarizing themselves with the content of the exam.

There will be a number of different topics addressed on the Microsoft 70-680 exam. One example of such a topic is Installing, Upgrading, and Migrating to Windows. On this portion of the exam, a candidate will need to demonstrate how to perform a clean installation, upgrade to Windows 7 from previous versions of Windows, and migrate user profiles, amongst other tasks.
