LPI 117-304 : LPI Level 3 Exam 304 Exam
Once a candidate has successfully completed the LPI Level 3 Exam 304, he or she will be entitled to the specialty designation: LPI 304: Virtualization and High Availability. The exam number for this test is 117-304. This exam is currently available in the English and Japanese languages, and a candidate will be allotted 90 minutes in which to finish the exam.
The content of the LPI 117-304 exam can be split into four, separate categories. The first category is Virtualization. Subtopics that will appear on this portion of the exam will include Virtualization Concepts and Theory, Xen, KVM, and other virtualization solutions. This is considered to be one of the most important portions of the exam.
The second portion of the exam will be dedicated to testing a candidate's knowledge of Load Balancing. In this portion of the exam, a candidate can expect to be tested on Linux Virtual Server, HA Proxy, and Linux PMI. Candidates should understand the concepts of Linux PMI. Basic experience in the installation of Linux PMI is also expected.
The final two portions of the LPI 117-304 exam will cover Cluster Management and Cluster Storage. Subtopics that a candidate will need to be familiar with include Pacemaker, Advanced Pacemaker, Red Hat Cluster Suite, and Global File System and OCFS2.
