IBM LOT-835 : Lotus Notes Domino 8 Application Development Intermediate Skills Exam
To become an IBM Certification Application Developer - Lotus Notes and Domino 8 at the intermediate level, applicants must pass this 65-question examination in 90 minutes with a score of at least 70%. There are 65 scored items and 3 unscored items.
To prepare for the IBM LOT-835 (IBM Lotus Notes Domino 8 Application Development Intermediate Skills) examination, knowledge of the exam guide is required, as is real-life experience. A classroom course, Developing IBM Lotus Domino 8 Applications: Intermediate Skills, which is 3-days long. Three IBM courses are also available online, as well as Domino 8 Application Development 2 distance learning course from TLCC. A study of product documentation is strongly recommended. Web resources including Lotus Sandbox Tutorial: Building Composite Applications for IBM Lotus Notes 8 Beta 3 are helpful, and "Building Composite Applications", publication # SG24-7367-00 should also be explored by way of preparation.
All seven competency areas on the IBM LOT-835 test and some of their subcompetencies are:
1. The Application Architecture topic involves connecting to Enterprise data, designing applications based on Summary/Non-Summary data storage and incorporating OLE objects, and working with reserved fields.
2. In the Composite Applications section, it requires the candidate to understand and describe the deployment of a Composite Application, applications incorporating OLE objects, and prevent replication or save conflicts.
3. To show competency in Database Management, managing data and design replication, design locking, and document locking are required, as are server document settings affection agents.
