IBM COG-480 : IBM Cognos 8 Planning Professional Exam
The IBM COG-480 (IBM Cognos 8 Planning Professional) exam was designed specifically to provide an assessment of a prospective candidate's skill level in analyzing, planning, designing, deploying, and operating effective and user-friendly Cognos Planning solutions. Examinees who achieve the minimum required passing score of 63% satisfy the exam criteria that is necessary for earning the title of IBM Certified Solution Expert-Cognos Planning. All candidates participating in this exam opportunity must take this test in English.
IBM offers learning resources for candidates in preparation for certification exams. Training classes are not prerequisites in the certification process, although they are highly recommended as a supplement to work experience. The Cognos 8 Planning Professional Workshop is a 5-day course that is associated with the COG-480 exam. A sample assessment test is also available to serve as a guide for examples of question formats and time constraints that could appear on the certification exam.
Exam topics will be presented in the form of 60 questions that are categorized into seven sections. The following is a non-exhaustive list of sample topics: Analyze a Planning Implementation, Design IBM Cognos Planning Applications, Performance Impacts, Design considerations to support other systems, Design-Common Challenges, Prepare solution for end users, and Using Planning information outside of the Planning environment. Examinees will be responsible for any additional, more detailed explanation and/or descriptions required within the format of the exam.
