IBM COG-205 : IBM Cognos 8 Controller Technical Specialist Exam
IBM's Professional Certification program is offering the IBM COG-205 (IBM Cognos 8 Controller Technical Specialist) exam for candidates who are in the process of earning their IBM Certified Specialist- Cognos 8 Controller credential. The primary aim of this exam is to assess the candidate's readiness and skill level pertaining to the installation and configuration of Cognos 8 Controller products. The COG-205 exam has a one-hour time limit and is currently being offered only in the English language.
Exam participants will be required to answer 47 questions that cover salient concepts, technologies, and functions of IBM's Cognos products. In preparation for this exam, candidates should expect topics that address architecture, conformance, installation and configuration, troubleshooting, and tuning. Examinees will demonstrate their knowledge of Cognos products by describing concepts such as functions of third party supporting software, securing Controller for a distributed client base, identifying supported Controller databases providers and security providers, describing installation and configuration processes, and various troubleshooting themes. Other relevant concepts may also appear on the exam.
IBM urges candidates to review learning resources such as the Cognos 8 Controller Installation and Configuration Guide and the Cognos 8 Controller Architecture and Deployment Guide. Candidates who utilize study tools, draw from their work experience, and take the sample assessment test will have the best chance for passing this exam.
