The IBM Certified Designer foundational certification is one that will support the abilities to design, build and manage reports. Professional report authors and intermediate designers can validate their skills with a wide range of techniques, technologies and multidimensional data sources, for jobs that use models and other methodologies in designing professional IT reports.
The IBM Certified Designer certification can be earned in three tracks, each one offered by IBM. The Cognos 10 BI Reports certification mandates a passing score on the COG-612 exam and will include knowledge of report creation and enhancement, event management, focus reports and the query model. The Cognos 10 BI Multidimensional Reports certification requires a passing score on the COG-645 exam and will cover dimensional data components and functions. The Forms 4 certification pathway focuses on design and layout using the Forms product; the LOT-916 test must be taken.
Assistance on each IBM Certified Designer certification exam is possible through the training courses that IBM offers to every candidate. These are not required, but they will work well the hands-on experience all candidates should have with the associated products.
