IBM 000-753 : Retail Store Solutions - 4690 Technical Solutions Exam
The IBM 000-753 exam is designed to assess a candidate's ability to translate retail business demands into technical requirements by demonstrating technology and product knowledge. The successful candidate will also have the skills needed for planning, designing, and implementing continuous customer technical support. Before taking this exam, which is available in the English language, candidates should have at least one year of experience implementing 4690 Point-of-Sale solutions in addition to a thorough knowledge of the 4690 operating system, architecture, features, and functionality. Candidates that meet or exceed the passing score of 69% will earn the IBM Certified Specialist-Retail Store Solutions: 4690 Technical Solutions certification.
The IBM 000-753 (Retail Store Solutions - 4690 Technical Solutions) is a two-hour exam that contains 75 questions that are arranged into six main sections that consist of the following:
-Technical Requirements Definition (technical solutions for customer requirements, measuring improvement of a new solution)
-Solution Architecture (evaluating a proposed solution for technical feasibility, resolving customer assurance issues, migration requirements, appropriate backup/recovery plans).
-Solution Presentation (proposing solutions, appropriate responses to customer questions, preparing for demonstrations).
-Solution Integration (installing/configuring hardware, personalizing software, configuring communication based on customer requirements, how to conduct pilot installations).
-Problem Management (identifying problems, providing resources for solutions to problems, steps involved in testing a solution).
-Project Management and Planning (planning to install or migrate a store solution, roles of stakeholders, tracking project progress, reporting requirements).
Items selected for this exam are based on work experience with the job roles associated with this certification. IBM offers a variety of training resources such as classroom courses, online courses, and web resources that are directly related to this exam. Although not required, candidates are encouraged to participate in training to increase their certification exam readiness.
