IBM 000-732 : DB2 9 DBA for z/OS Exam
IBM is offering the 000-732 (DB2 9 DBA for z/OS) exam for professionals who are completing the IBM Certified Database Administrator-DB2 9 DBA for z/OS certification. This exam provides candidates with the opportunity to demonstrate their competency in the use of DB2 9 for z/OS as it relates to specific job responsibilities. Candidates should have on-going, practical work experience with this product/s before attempting this exam. A passing score of 57% or higher is required for certification.
The IBM 000-732 exam is made up of five main topic sections that address key aspects of DB2 principles. There are 69 total questions that must be completed within a 90-minute time frame. As sampling of exam topics is as follows:
-Database Design and Implementation (tables and views, designing indexes and table spaces, performing partitioning, creating/managing XML objects).
-Operation and Recovery (give database-oriented commands for normal operating conditions, planning for outages, loading/unloading data into and from created tables, reorganizing objects, monitoring utilities and threads, developing backup scenarios, monitoring and managing virtual storage).
-Security and Auditing (protecting DB2 objects, auditing DB2 activity and resources, creating and maintaining roles and trusted contexts).
-Performance (setup and run monitoring procedures, analyzing performance, analyzing and tuning cache structures, DB2 interaction with WLM, review and tune SQL.
-Installation and Migration/Upgrade (perform catalog heath checks with queries/utilities, datasharing components, identify critical ZPARMs).
As always, candidates will be responsible for any addition, related content that is likely to appear on this exam. Exam content will be derived from industry-standard knowledge that is gained through work experience as well as concepts from training courses. Although not required, IBM encourages all candidates to participate in the DB2 training courses of their choice.
