IBM 000-730 : DB2 9 Family Fundamentals Exam
The IBM 000-730 certification exam is intended for Database Associates and Administrators who are progressing toward completion of one of a variety of DB2 certification paths. Successfully passing this exam will validate the candidate's knowledge of the basic concepts surrounding DB2 9 and will fulfill a portion of the eligibility criteria for a variety of DB2 product certifications. Before taking this exam, the candidate should have a thorough understanding of tasks required for daily administration, knowledge of basic SQL, an understanding of how DB2 9 is packaged and installed, how to create databases, and a basic knowledge of database security principles.
The IBM 000-730 (DB2 9 Family Fundamentals) exam contains a total of 64 questions that are to be completed with the 90-minute time limit. The following are sample topics that will be featured on this exam:
-Planning (knowledge of features/functions of DB2 tools, database workloads, and restricting data access)
-Security (different privileges and authorities, encryption options, and identifying results based on DDl SQL statements)
-Working with Database and Database Objects (identifying and connecting DB2 servers and databases, basic characteristics and properties of DB2 objects)
-Working with DB2 data using SQL (using SQL to select, sort, and group data, identifying results based on XQuery and SML SQL statements).
-Working with DB2 tables, views, and indexes (usage of DB2 data types, creating tables, knowledge of schemas, characteristics of a table, view, or index, and knowing data type options for storing XML data.
-Data Concurrency (factors that influence locking, listing objects where locks can be acquired, and characteristics of DB2 locks).
