IBM 000-612 : DB2 10 DBA for z/OS Exam
The IBM 000-612 (DB2 10 DBA for z/OS) test leads to becoming an IBM Certified Database Administrator. Therefore, the 67 questions on the 000-612 exam require that candidates prove they have significant experience and knowledge of DB2, particularly version 10. To score a passing mark of 60% or better within the 90 minute time frame alloted, candidates must be able to perform z/OS operating system tasks related to database design.
The questions on the 000-612 exam are divided into 5 sections. The three largest sections of the exam include questions on performance, database design and implementation, and operation and recovery. During these sections, candidates will be required to demonstrate their abilities to design tables and views, create and manage XML, perform health checks, and review and tune SQL.
The remaining two sections of the exam are devoted to security and auditing, and installation and migration/upgrade. During these sections, candidates must demonstrate their abilities in understanding privileges and critical ZPARMs.
Prior to taking the exam, candidates are also encouraged to take either the classroom course, "DB2 for z/OS New Functions and Features in V10 , " or the online course, "DB2 for z/OS - New Features in Version 10."
