IBM 000-539 : IBM Tivoli Storage Manager V6.2 Administration Exam
The IBM 000-539 (IBM Tivoli Storage Manager V6.2 Administration) examination consists of sixty-five questions. Students taking the test are given seventy five minutes to complete it. In order to pass the examination, a minimum score of sixty three percent must be obtained. The test is available solely in the English language.
To prepare for the IBM 000-539 examination, applicants can take an instructor led classroom course that will teach them everything that they need to know about implementing and administering a Tivoli storage manager environment. Students are not required to take the course in order to be able to take the examination, but it is recommended. The course will teach students about storage administrators necessary when it comes to configuring, implementing, and administering the IBM Storage manager.
Students will learn through various hands-on exercises about backing up archive clients, installing the clients, and configuring them to different environments. Lab exercises will lead students through restoring, backing up, archiving, and retrieving data in one of these environments. Persons taking the examination must exhibit working knowledge of the TSM server components explain what each component does, and properly implement them.
There are multiple topics and subtopics of which students should have an understanding about prior to taking the exam. Emphasis is put on explaining the way in which the database functions, explaining the basic principles of integrating DB2 environments with TSM, explaining storage pools, and explaining recovery logs.
