Designed to validate the skills and abilities of storage managers who work with Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) on a regular basis, the HDS Certified Storage Manager Certification measures the competence of leaders throughout all phases of the storage management solution project planning, development and launch processes.
Managers must possess the appropriate knowledge and skills to plan solutions, designate resources, build layouts and structure architecture, as well as plan connectivity and document development and architecture specifications. In addition to these crucial knowledge areas, the Hitachi Data Systems Certified Storage Manager exam documents the candidate's ability to handle the policy planning, development and communication requirements, and quality assurance and testing phases of successful project management.
Certification candidates have three separate tracks from which to choose with the HDS Certified Storage Manager: Storage Management, Business Continuity Enterprise, and Business Continuity Modular. Each requires the successful completion of a single certification exam covering the focus-area specific concepts, knowledge and skills.
There is also an expert level certification available in the Hitachi Data Systems Certified Storage Manager focus for candidates that wish to elevate their qualifications to the highest possible certification level offered by HDS. To achieve the expert level certification, candidates must first pass one of the focus-area specific HDS Certified Storage Manager certification exams, and then best the SNIA Storage Management exam.
