Employees of Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) and its authorized partners may achieve formal certification as a Hitachi Data Systems Certified Implementer by passing two certification exams. The first exam which must be completed is the Hitachi Data Systems Storage Foundations certification exam. It is the most entry level of the HDS exams and measures the basic skills, knowledge and abilities of candidates to work with HDS storage solutions, technologies and products.
After earning the Hitachi Data Systems Storage Foundations Certification, candidates are qualified to purse the Hitachi Data Systems Certified Implementer Certification. There are five separate focus areas in which candidates may become certified with this qualification path: Content Platform, Enterprise, Modular, NAS and Compute Platform. Each requires the passing of a single exam covering the materials and specifications of the particular storage technology or product.
Hands on experience with the product or solution in which the candidate intends to become certified is an important exam preparation step. Training is also recommended for successfully passing the Hitachi Data Systems Certified Implementer exam, though it is not required for exam registration.
