The job duties of customer-facing technical support positions are the target skills set documented through the HDI Support Center Analyst (HDI-SCA) certification. This certification validates the candidate's service management skills and documents the candidate's knowledge of customer and technical management best practices as well.

A single certification exam is required for earning the HDI-SCA certification, and a passing score of 80% or higher must be achieved on the 65-question, multiple choice exam. Training is recommended for success with the exam, but is not required. HDI members and non-members will find exam prep resources on the company website.
