GIAC GCFW : GIAC Certified Firewall Analyst Exam
The GIAC GCFW: GIAC Certified Firewall Analyst exam is designed to test a candidate's knowledge of how to design, configure, and monitor routers, firewalls, and perimeter defense systems. The exam is designed for industry professionals who are responsible for designing, implementing, and configuring secure perimeters within their respective organizations.
In order to prepare for the exam, a candidate is encouraged to enroll in the SANS training course: SEC502: Perimeter Protection In-Depth. This exam is proctored. The test will contain a range of 75 questions. A candidate will be provided with 120 minutes in which to complete the exam, and I order to pass the test, a minimum score of 69.3% must be reached.
For the GIAC GCFW exam, a candidate will be required to demonstrate their knowledge of Analyzing Network and Wireless Design and Creating and Auditing a Rulebase. This will require a candidate to possess familiarity with network design principles and decisions, and with basic wireless security issues.
Other topics that a candidate can expect to arise on the GCFW exam include Firewall Assessment and Penetration Testing, Host Based Detection and DLP, IOS and Router Security, and Network Access Control. Other questions about related topics may appear on the exam at the proctor's discretion.
