EMC E20-616 : Symmetrix Specialist Exam for Platform Engineers Exam
EMC Corporation is offering this E20-616 (Symmetrix Specialist Exam for Platform Engineers) exam for certification as part of its EMC Platform Engineer Symmetrix Specialist track. This exam will require the candidate to demonstrate their knowledge of the Symmetrix DMX and VMAX systems, including the ability to effectively communicate features and functions of different hardware models, understand architecture and operational theory, and use SymmWin GUI and Inlines commands to demonstrate management and administrative capabilities. This exam will also assess one's ability to perform tasks involving installation, configuration, and maintenance in a Symmetrix environment. This is exam is currently only available in the English language.
In order to better support candidates preparing for the EMC E20-616 exam, EMC has designed eLearning and video educational tools that correspond with this specialist exam. Candidates are also invited to take the free practice tests to gain familiarity with sample questions and test question formats. More information can be found on EMC's Proven Professional website.
The E20-616 exam allows candidates a maximum of 90 minutes to answer the 60 questions that will be presented. The exam will focus on the following topic categories:
1. Symmetrix Hardware Configuration Using SymmWin (e.g. SymmWin applications, special device configuration, Celerra configuration, and SymmWin best practices)
2. Symmetrix Hardware (DMX-3, DMX-4, and VMAX) Configurations
3. Symmetrix Installation and Maintenance (e.g. cabling, vaulting concepts, installation verification and troubleshooting)
Candidates should also be familiar with Symmetrix with Enginutiy 5875, Symmetrix DMX-3, DMX-4, and VMAX arrays, and Symmwin products. Exam topic categories could contain additional content that may not be included in the above list, therefore, examinees should review all relevant educational resources prior to taking this exam.
