EMC E20-322 : Technology Architect Solutions Design Exam
The EMC E20-322 (Technology Architect Solutions Design) exam serves as a qualifying exam for the following Technology Architect Specialist tracks: EMC Storage and Information Infrastructure, EMC Commercial Storage and Information Infrastructure, Symmetrix Solutions, CLARiiON Solutions, Storage Area Networks (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), Content Addressed Storage (CAS), and Storage Management.
The EMC E20-322 exam tests the participant's ability to gather the right information and the tools necessary to gather that information. This includes analyzing the data to determine solution requirements and applying the best design practices to meet a customer's constraints and priorities.
While everyone taking the EMC E20-322 exam will receive a common set of questions based on the skills required to design storage solutions to meet customer requirements, a second portion will include a focus either on the Enterprise or Commercial markets. To complete the exam, a candidate need only pass one of the focuses.
The exact type of technology that will be tested over the exam will depend on whether the candidate is taking the Commercial or Enterprise focus section. For the Enterprise focus, the technology tested includes, but is not limited to Symmetrix SRDF, Solutions Enabler, Open Replicator, VNX for File, Unisphere v1.1, PowerPath v5.5, and Avamar v5.0. For the Commercial focus, the relevant technology may include VPLEX v4.1, VMware vSphere v4.1, and Data Protection Advisor v5.7.
Regardless of the focus taken, the exam as a whole will ask questions on all concepts related to Solutions. Tiered Storage, Unified, SAN, Replication, Data Archiving, Backup and Recovery, and Data Migration Solutions are a sample of the types of topics included.
