The target audience for the EGMP (Esri Enterprise Geodatabase Management Professional) certification is individuals who have at least five years of work experience as a database administrator or GIS administrator. At least three years of previous experience managing a multi-user geodatabase is also highly recommended for individuals seeking the EGMP certification.
The EGMP (Esri Enterprise Geodatabase Management Professional) certification is given to individuals who understand all aspects of the geodatabase, including components and architecture. Relevant related skills include, but are not limited to, installing, configuring, versioning, tuning, and general database diagnosis. Additionally, those with this certification must understand work flows and be able to perform geodatabase maintenance. The certification also acknowledges an individual's skills in developing an ArcGIS multi-user enterprise and maintaining it.
In order to earn the EGMP certification, candidates need to pass the Enterprise Geodatabase Management Professional exam. Though training is recommended, it is not required. All candidates for the exam will have two and a half hours to answer the 85 questions.
