CompTIA Server+ certified professionals possess knowledge in server issues and technology. They are also capable of understanding all of the concepts related to disaster recovery, server hardware, and server software. During a certified professional's daily tasks, they will be required to work in an IT environment and perform troubleshooting.
Interested candidates are required to pass the SK0-003 Server+ exam to gain certification. The exam lasts for 90 minutes and contains 100 questions. The highest possible score is 900, and candidates must have a score of at least 750 in order to pass the exam. At least 18 months of prior work experience and the CompTIA A+ certification is recommended before taking the exam, but neither are required.
After earning the CompTIA Server+ certification, candidates enjoy positions at companies such as Xerox, Dell, Intel, HP, IBM, and Lenovo, as these companies recommend or require the CompTIA Server+ certification for server technicians. Typical job roles include network administrator, systems engineer, web site administrator, and network engineer.
