A CLP (Certified Linux Professional) certification acknowledges a professional's expertise in performing SUSE® Linux Enterprise Server administrative tasks. Individuals with this certification must be skilled in installing and configuring SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 systems, maintenance of file systems, and management of software, processes, and printing. Additionally, during their daily job tasks, a CLP is required to configure fundamental network services, Samba, Web Server, and IPv6. Candidates must have achieved the SUSE Certified Linux Administrator (CLA) certification before they will be granted the CLP certification.
Two learning paths exist for the CLP certification. For the Novell Certified Linux Professional 11 path, candidates are required to take the 050-721 Novell CLP 11 Practicum test. For the Novell Certified Linux Professional 10 path, candidates are required to take the 050-697 Novell CLP 10 Practicum test. Training for both exams is available in the form of authorized Novell training courses, but candidates are not required to take the courses.
