The Cisco Routing and Switching Solutions Specialist certification will prepare the candidate to demonstrate the skills necessary for identifying the technical, business, and technological demands of a given, individual customer. This will enable the customer to create networking solutions that utilize Cisco's high-level routing and switching features. In order to be eligible for this certification, candidates must carry a current Cisco CCDA, CCDP, or any of the CCIE certifications.
To complete the certification requirements, candidates must pass two exams. The 642-062 exam is a 60-minute assessment that will test the candidate's skill in assessing and identifying a customer's technical and business requirements. They will also describe and identify the functions and capabilities of Cisco routing and switching solutions and design a solution that includes the features of advanced routing and switching to meet customer needs. Training and exam preparation is available with the Advanced Routing and Switching for System Engineers v3.0 and Lifecycle Services Advanced Routing and Switching courses.
The second exam requirement is 642-654 WAASSE. This 60-minute exam assesses the candidate's ability to implement a Cisco WAAS solution. Exam topics will include describing various features, uses, and applications of the WAAS products set and designing a solution to meet customer requirements. Other related items will also be included on this exam. Candidates can prepare by taking the Cisco Wide Area Application Services v2.0 for SE and FE course.
