Cisco is pleased to offer the Routing and Switching Field Specialist certification to Cisco Channel Partners and Resellers. This certification will confirm the candidate's skills related to installing, configuring, monitoring, and supporting the high-level features of Cisco routing and switching solutions. The successful candidate will have proficiency in with Border Gateway Protocol, Multi-Protocol Label Switching, Quality of Service, IP version 6, WAN optimization, and High Availability. Prerequisite certifications include a current Cisco CCNP or any CCIE certification.
In addition to having the aforementioned prerequisite certifications, it is recommended that candidates participate in the training courses that correspond to this certification track. The Advanced Routing and Switching for Field Engineers v3.0 and Cisco Wide Area Application Services v2.0 for SE and FE courses will help prepare candidates for the two exam requirements.
To complete the certification requirements, candidates must pass the 642-067 ARSFE and 642-655 WAASFE exams. The 642-067 exam is a one-hour assessment that will test the candidate's ability to configure and implement the advanced capabilities of Cisco routing and switching solutions, execute troubleshooting tasks, describe the value of Lifecycle services, and to apply Cisco PIN architecture and CVDs to a network solution.
The 642-655 exam is a one-hour test that will assess the candidate's ability to implement WAAS components of an ANS solution and to perform various troubleshooting tasks in a WAAS solution. Other, more specific related items will also be included on each exam.
