Support Specialists with Cisco Data Center Unified Computing have strong foundational skills in solution implementation and virtualized environments, with a solid understanding (from both training and experience) with the Unified Computing system. Earning the Cisco Data Center Unified Computing Support Specialist certification is a great chance for all individuals interested in taking on a support role with these products to validate their skills and gain new knowledge related to the job field.
A combination of practical, on-the-job experience and Cisco training will make you the perfect candidate. Two e-learning courses are available to take. One is a six hour course that covers basic virtualization and server architecture information. The other is a 10 hour course that specifically educates students on the Unified Computing System B and C series, its role in routing and switching infrastructure, and related technology, such as the Nexus line of products.
The test, Cisco Data Center Unified Computing Implementation (642-994), is 75 minutes in length and will focus on troubleshooting and management tasks as related to data center virtualization server parameters. The test can only be taken once two other specialist certifications have been earned (Storage Networking Support Specialist and Networking Infrastructure Support Specialist), or once the DCUCI Qualifier Exam has been successfully passed.
