Cisco 642-627 : IPS V7.0 (Implementing Cisco Intrusion Prevention System V7.0) Exam
The Cisco 642-627 IPS V7.0 examination is designed for those individuals who are currently seeking their certification for a CCSP, CCNP Security or Cisco IPS Specialist. The test is geared towards testing an individual's knowledge of the deployment of the Cisco's IPS-based security solutions. In its current form, the test's duration is 90 minutes with 60-70 questions. Additionally, the test is in English only.
Students who successfully take the Cisco 642-627 exam will have the ability to reduce the risks that are often poised at IT infrastructures and applications by being familiar with the Cisco IPS. These individuals will also have the necessary skills to provide operations support for the Cisco IPS. Before this is possible, however, students are advised to take the Implementing Cisco Intrusion Prevention System course.
There is a wide range of topics that are covered within the Cisco 642-627 examination. These topics include such items as pre-production design, support operations and troubleshooting. Additionally, the individual's knowledge will be tested on which Cisco products to implement HLD, which Cisco IPS technologies to implement, how to optimize Cisco IPS security infrastructure device's performance and software configuration to enable fault finding and repairing.
