Cisco 640-461 : ICOMM v8.0 (Introducing Cisco Voice and Unified Communications Administration) Exam
The Cisco 640-461 ICOMM V8.0 written exam replaces previous Cisco certifications in the area of voice and unified communications. The new V8.0 Introducing Cisco Voice and Unified Communication Administration certification tests knowledge of system monitoring and Cisco Unified Communications. Candidates can prepare for the exam by taking the ICOMM V8.0 640-461 introductory course before attempting the exam. The new 640-461 exam has been refreshed to match new standards of data exchange designed to reflect the convergence of data, voice, and video on the network. The exam will last up to 90 minutes and will consist of 60-70 questions. The exam is available in both English and Japanese.
Exam topics include subjects such as system monitoring, along with knowledge of the architecture, components, functionalities, and features of Cisco Unified Communications. The Cisco 640-461 ICOMM V8.0 written exam replaces the previous Cisco certifications dealing with voice and unified administration, and forms the new core components of the CCNA Voice certification and unified communications. The new certification validates skills in VoIP technologies such as IP PBX, IP telephony, handset, call control, and voicemail solutions. Advanced network skills are addressed, including those required to integrate collaboration and voice application into underlying network architectures. A certified professional will be equipped to create solutions involving scalable, manageable, and integrated standard environments. General questions will cover simulated problems and require an evaluation of possible solutions.
