Cisco 350-029 : CCIE SP (Service Provider) Exam
The Cisco 350-029 CCIE Service Provider exam qualifies candidates to act as a network engineer to implement, troubleshoot, and optimize Service Provider features. The exam will consist exclusively of written questions in multiple-choice format, and every question must be answered completely before candidates may move on to the next question. Candidates should expect to spend up to 120 minutes on the certification exam and answer between 90-110 questions concerning the Service Provider certification and related subject matter. The exam and the passing score will be evaluated on a scale from 300-1000 possible points. No outside reference material will be allowed in the testing area, and all necessary testing materials will be provided at the testing center. Study materials are available from the Cisco bookstore, and candidates will be expected to possess expert-level knowledge.
The Cisco 350-029 CCIE Service Provider exam covers seven different sections, starting with core IP technologies, access/edge connection technologies, remote access technologies, L3VPN technologies, L2VPN technologies, managed services traversing the core, and implementation principles. Questions will focus on describing, implementing, optimizing, and troubleshooting the different technologies, including packets over SONET, IP over DWDM, IGP routing, and MPLS traffic. Access/edge connection technologies will cover PPP connections, frame-relay connections, T1/T3 and E1/E3 services, and ATM connections. Other technology issues cover carrier supporting carrier, VRF service, multicast VPM, AToM, managed voice/video, and VPLS and carrier Ethernet. General questions will cover simulated problems and require an evaluation of possible solutions.
