Cisco 350-018 : CCIE Security Exam

The Cisco 350-018 CCIE Security written exam covers the in depth application of security protocols, operating systems, application protocols, security technologies, and other Cisco security measures. The exam uses a randomly assigned set of questions covering relevant and related topics to measure ability. The exam will have 90 - 110 questions, all of which will be multiple choices. Scoring for the exam will use a scale between 300-1000. No outside books or reference material of any kind will be allowed inside during the testing process; all required exam materials will be provided at the testing center. Additional study resources related to the test are available through the Cisco bookstore. Candidates will be required to answer each question completely before moving on to the next question, and answers may not be changed later; the exam should take about 120 minutes to complete.

The Cisco 350-018 CCIE Security written exam covers nine different sections starting with implementation of specific protocols, including network and optimization issues. The main sections of the test cover: general networking, security protocols, ciphers, hashing, and encryption, application protocols, security technologies, Cisco security appliances and applications, Cisco security management, general Cisco security, and security solutions. Specific issues addressed include networking basics, OSI layers, TCP/IP protocols, LAN switching, routing and tunneling protocols, and IP multicast. Specific security protocols include Rivest ciper, secure hash algorithms, data encryption standards, triple DES, internet security association and key management protocols, secure socket layer, and terminal access controller access. Application protocol questions will cover hypertext transfer protocol, simple mail transfer protocol, dynamic host configuration, and simple network management protocols. General questions will cover simulated problems and require an evaluation of possible solutions.
