Cisco 350-001 : CCIE Routing & Switching Exam
The Cisco 350-001 Routing and Switching written exam is a two-hour qualification course designed to access skill level and provide certification of ability. The exam will be conducted at an authorized Pearson VUE testing center, and no outside reference materials or textbooks will allowed inside during the exam period. This test uses a combination of multiple choice questions and skill simulations to perform qualification assessment of the exam topics related to the 350-001 Routing and Switching certification. Exams may also test related topics and other skills relevant to the main subject. The test will be comprised of up to 100 questions and every question must be answered in order before moving on to the next question; students will not be allowed to return to questions and change their answers.
The Cisco 350-001 exam covers 11 different sections starting with implementation of specific protocols, including network and optimization issues. The main sections of the test cover the implementation of layer 2 technology, implementing IPv4, implementing IPv6, implementing MPLS Layer 3 VPNs, as well as implementing IP multicast. Additional related topics include network security, network services, service quality issues, troubleshooting a network, optimizing a network, and evaluating proposed changes to the network. Layer 2 technology subjects include VLAN trunking protocols, unicast flooding, Ethernet technology, and frame relays. IPv4 issues include addressing, sub-netting, subnet masking, open shortest path first (OPSF), interior gateway routing protocols, and Cisco optimized edge routing. Other implementation issues include functionality protocols, tunneling techniques, multiprotocol label switching, unicast rendezvous points, and source specific multicasting. General questions will cover simulated problems and require an evaluation of possible solutions.
