Cisco offers a Certified Professional certification in the Voice track of IT networking. The CCNP Voice (Cisco Certified Network Professional - Voice) certification is one that should be earned by experience individuals in an attempt to verify knowledge and pick up new skills that can be directly applied to the workforce. Intermediate skills of developing, implementing and administering will make up the majority of this certification. Participants should have previously worked with Cisco Unified Communications Manager, an IP telephony call processing program, as the CCNP Voice certification is ideal for jobs that use this program.
The Associate level certification in Cisco Voice must be earned before earning the Professional certification. The five exams that must be passed to earn this certification will cover similar concepts in a more advanced setting, ensuring that all participants have the appropriate skill set to advance in the career field. Three exams test the ability to implement Unified Communications Voice and Communications Manager, incorporating knowledge of gateways, quality of service and IP phones. One exam will focus on the integration of applications, and the other is dedicated to troubleshooting skills. Training is available for each exam.
As a part of the Cisco Learning Network, this certification pathway is just one of the many that can be traveled. The CCNP Voice (Cisco Certified Network Professional - Voice) certification is specific to Cisco companies and can be re-earned every three years by passing one current exam.
