The CCNP SP (Cisco Certified Network Professional - Service Provider) certification is designed for network security professionals. Earning this certification validates that the professional has expertise in tasks that involve providing security of routers, switches, appliances, and other networking devices. This certification will also prepare candidates to effectively choose, deploy, and troubleshoot firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNS solutions that are a part of a Cisco networking environment.
Before earning the CCNP SP (Cisco Certified Network Professional - Service Provider) certification, candidates must have a current CCNA Security or CCSP certification. Qualified candidates will then be eligible to take part in the assessment process, which involves passing four exams. Candidates must pass the Securing Networks with Cisco Routers and Switches, Implementing Cisco Intrusion Prevention System, Deploying Cisco ASA Firewall Solutions, and the Deploying Cisco ASA VPN Solutions exams. Upon earning this certification, it will be valid for a period of three years.
