The Blackberry Certified System Administrator certification is designed to validate the technical expertise of IT professionals who are tasked with installing, configuring and managing software required for the operation of a Blackberry Enterprise Server.
IT professionals can choose to obtain their certification in one of two platforms: Microsoft Exchange or IBM Lotus Domino. Technical experts who handle installation, configuration and administration of Blackberry Enterprise Server software in both platforms can also choose to obtain a certification in each.
Earning the Blackberry Certified System Administrator certification requires the candidate to pass a single exam, either the BCP-420 exam for Microsoft Exchange, or the BCP-421 exam for IBM Lotus Domino. The environment in which a technical professional works most often will determine which exam is appropriate for validating their skill set.
Hands-on experience with the platform in question is important, but so is focused study and exam prep. Candidates will find study guides, exam guides and practice tests available on the Blackberry website to assist in their test preparation activities. Private companies also offer extensive exam prep resources.
